Rainbow Preschool began holding classes in August of 1985 under the ownership of the First Christian Church of Morris. The school continues to meet in the church's facility, expanding and upgrading to meet the needs of today's preschooler. |
Age Cutoff
- Students must turn either three or four on or before September 1 to be eligible for the school year.
Calendar and Hours
- The school year begins in early September and runs until the end of May. Specific dates vary each year.
- School hours are 9am - 2:30pm, Monday through Thursday.
- A school calendar will be provided each year and generally follows the Morris Public School calendar.
Partnership and Communication
- We encourage parents to be our partners in encouraging their child to learn.
- Monthly Newsletters are distributed to the parents and meetings with staff are available, if needed.

Stephanie Chapman - Director
I have been married to my husband Bobby for 10 years, we have three beautiful daughters. We have been attending First Christian Church for 11 years. This is my third year at Rainbow Preschool, my first year as director.

Mary Hayworth - Teacher Assistant, 4's
My husband Mike and I have been Morris residents for 23 years. We have three children. Megan is 20 and a student at ISU. Molly is 18 and a student at Elmhurst College. Our son Mitchell is a 4th grader at White Oaks Elementary. I am a 21 year member of First Christian Church. During that time I have taught Sunday school and Bible school. I have been at Rainbow Preschool for 4 years now. |

Teresa Henson - Teacher, 3's
My husband, Tim, and I have lived in Morris and been members of First Christian Church (FCC) for over 10 years. Tim is the Children's Minister at FCC. We have two children. Jonathan is in 1st grade and Abigail is in preschool. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Bible from Lincoln Christian College and a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Illinois State University. I was a middle school teacher for three years before I had my two children. I have served in various capacities in the Children's Ministry at FCC the past 10 years and am currently the 9:00am large group teacher in Wee Worship (3yrs - K). This is my second year of teaching at Rainbow Preschool. |

I am a graduate of Eastern Illinois University with my Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education. I have taught first grade for three years. I have attended First Christian Church my whole life, now along with my husband, Chet. We have a beautiful baby girl. This is my first year teaching at Rainbow Preschool. |

Janice Richardson - Teacher, 4's
I graduated from Lincoln Christian College with a bachelor's degree in Christian Education. I have taught at Rainbow Preschool for over 20 years. My husband is a minister and we have two daughters and 5 grandchildren. |

| License and Safety Information |
Rainbow Preschool is licensed by the state of Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, and subject to meeting all of the state standards for preschools and day-care centers. This includes the staff qualifications, ratio of teachers to children in each class, and the number of children who may be enrolled.
The school has also been inspected by the State Fire Marshall and the Grundy County Health Department. Rainbow Preschool also follows state-required safety regulations for child pick up after school dismissal. The safety of our students is very important to us. |
